Urban Family Session on the BeltLine

This was a super fun session with one of my longest Atlanta clients.  I’ve had the pleasure of decorating their walls with family photos and creating their holiday cards since 2o11, soon after we relocated from NYC.  This shoot particularly colorful, which I LOVED.  It was a location I had wanted to use since I saw it profiled in Atlanta Mag.  And this was just the family to work it!  :o)  I must add too – anyone who’s looking for a great hairstylist, this girl is simply divine!  (Brandy Claussen at Vortex)

Baby Boy Turns One!

So why not celebrate with a cake smash and some blocks?!!   Or not….This little guy was definitely not feeling it at first, as you can see in the first shot.  🙂  But, I’m glad to say he quickly warmed up!  A funny, and often surprising, thing that sometimes happens at First Birthday Cake Smash sessions is that, well, sometimes the kids don’t know WHAT to think of this cake stuff.  Some dig in face first once they taste the sweet icing, but more often than not, they are a bit skeptical of this frosted treat and proceed with the utmost caution.  The best thing of all is – you never know what’s going to happen until that first taste.  And how fun is that, esp. for the parents!?!  For the final printed wall piece, we went with a 10×20 inch framed triptych with some color tinting, as shown in the last photo.

Family of Three

Good times in a Candler Park cooperative garden.  Despite getting off to a rocky start (my nanny blew out my tire leaving me stranded), you wouldn’t know it here!  Thanks to these three for being so awesome, understanding and a total joy to work with

Ritchie Boys

I admit, I was a little nervous about shooting three boys, two of which were three year old twins.  All I can say is that I left this session so over-the-moon, that I was overcome with delusional thoughts….that I would LOVE just one more (kid – IF I could guarantee a boy).  Not that I don’t LOVE my girls.  I do – they’re my everything.  However, there is something so very different about boys that just mesmerizes me.  I think this session speaks to the inherent nature of…..boys (especially that last shot)!  Here’s to the future generation of men!!
