A dream come true…

Last week I was very excited to meet my favorite author of all time – the brilliant and beautiful – Julie Orringer.  I feel so fortunate to live in a neighborhood brimming with writers, directors, artists….creatives of all sorts.  This was momentous because her first book, a collection of short stories entitled, “How to Breathe Underwater,” resonated so deeply with me.  She is an incredibly gifted storyteller.  Her collection was a New York Times notable book and was named Book of the Year by the LA Times and the San Francisco Chronicle.  If you haven’t read it, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend it.  I am getting ready to savor her new book, the highly acclaimed, “Invisible Bridge.”

I would be remiss not to mention that she is married to the equally talented writer, Ryan Harty.  With genes like this, I can only imagine what baby Jacob has in store.  Here are some links to their work and shots from our session, which almost got rained out!

My day with the Kleins

I’ve known this family since Noa, the big sister, was a just couple months old.  She has really become such a charismatic little girl.  And those curls!!   Just gorgeous.  It was so much fun to see the little brother and sister interact, especially since my kids are the same age.  It was like looking into a foggy mirror.  Fun fact:  Not only do the mom, April, and I share the same name but our little ones have the same birthday!

Easter Egg Hunting in Brooklyn, Baby!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays to photograph kids.  They are always SO excited to score eggs (okay, CANDY!) and it’s great fun to shoot.
